Knight Foundation

We believe foundations can—and should—find innovative ways to fund journalism programs to keep people better informed about issues that matter. That’s why Knight Foundation turned to Sage to promote its Community Information Challenge initiative, a strategy to engage community and place-based foundations in playing leading roles in meeting the information needs of their communities.

Sage used a media relations and viral social media strategy to promote materials like the Foundation’s “Journalism and Media Grant Making” booklet, produced in partnership with the William Penn Foundation.  We also helped get the word out about regional foundations who were awarded grants to keep journalism alive in their communities.
