Social Impact Communications Strategist
Sage is social impact communications firm with a 14-year track record of helping nonprofits and for-profits, foundations and public agencies develop and implement strategic communications plans that focus on storytelling, messaging, branding, and publicizing their good work. Sage is seeking a creative and strategic thinker and communications expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for and experience in social impact communications and civic/community engagement. Since we are a unique firm that focuses on the social good sector, the candidate must understand and care deeply about issues that are priorities in Philadelphia, the region and nation: public education, health and human services, affordable housing and community health and wellness, the environment, and arts and culture. An ideal candidate also has experience in social responsibility and/or corporate citizenship in the for-profit sector and/or experience in community engagement. Sage is a certified woman-owned business in the states of PA and NJ.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public policy, political science or related field.Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience. Agency, nonprofit, public agency or in-house communications experience a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; writing samples required.
Some knowledge of issues advocacy, politics, public policy, corporate citizenship, and social responsibility. Ideal candidate has community engagement skills or experience in conducting focus groups and perceptions research.
Experience in developing and implementing communications strategies; media relations; monitoring and measuring results.
Creative thinking is one of your strong suits.
Multi-tasking in a deadline-driven environment is a skill you’ve mastered.
Understanding a client’s and their competitor’s business/sector is where you excel.
Growing existing business and helping our team seek and pitch new business is exciting to you.
