The William Penn Foundation has long been dedicated to assuring adequate funding for Pennsylvania’s public schools. To press the issue, the Foundation funded three of the state’s most respected education policy organizations as a collaborative, The Education Finance Reform Campaign. Sage Communications was hired to help the campaign develop powerful messages and to create new strategies for the media as well as materials for the public. The goal was to have persuasive messages prepared when the first-ever Costing Out Study was released by the Pennsylvania State Board of Education. A new commission overseeing equitable education funding across the state was formed as a result of the communications efforts and the work of the Collaborative.
